No: 9 in a series of articles  - Gary Null Ph.D.

One of the great things about doing what I do for a living is I truly get to meet some remarkable people. It has been this way for 40 years since I toured with many of Britain’s great rock bands and later was associated with many of the world’s great car and motorcycle racers. Producing this documentary is a continuation of that blessing in that I get to meet such leading lights in natural medicine and social consciousness as Gary Null.

Gary’s reputation for suffering fools lightly, if at all, had preceded my meeting him for this interview but in fact much of this reputation is clouded in the fact that this man has a mission. And a noble mission it is. I watched and listened as he held an audience of 500+ captivated with his animated speaking for 2 hours at a recent “health fair” on Long Island. His knowledge of conventional medicine and “natural treatments” is considerable and being the health conscious athlete he is, natural living is his constant priority. Gary will not speak of his age, he simply references the questioner to “age is only a number”. But for someone who I believe might be in his mid 60s, he is in remarkable condition. He talks the talk and walks the walk, or in Gary’s case – runs the marathon!

Garynull.com is a cornucopia of not only natural health information, but volumes of deep thought on a variety of social issues from AIDS to cancer and the use of Prozac to expounding on the Gulf War Syndrome. I attended the premiere of his new documentary on AIDS, or as he calls it The Big Lie About Aids!

In AIDS INC., Dr. Null shows how greed and corruption have prevented any real progress in fighting the epidemic and its underlying causes. The film challenges the notion that AIDS or HIV is an African monkey virus that is spread sexually and can be "treated" with harmful drugs. It considers the common underlying conditions of the epidemic, such as malnutrition, unclean water, poverty, illness such as TB, malaria and dysentery, and poor lifestyle choices. It appears not to be a big jump from AIDS to cancer.

It is a very powerful film that was applauded vigorously at its premier and typical of the intense energy Gary Null applies to causes to which he commits.

For over 30 years, Gary Null has committed his life to making a difference in the world of health and beyond. His messages delivered on his long-standing radio programs and on popular PBS television specials are worthy of the mass attention they command. Time magazine called him “The New Mr. Natural”. The New York Daily News wrote, "Radio's leading health and fitness expert offers a panorama of alternative approaches for staying healthy.”

My interview with him started out addressing specific treatments for prostate cancer but as might have been expected, it became an all-encompassing lifestyle treatise, the likes of which I am becoming quite used to now that I am exploring the issue of alternative treatments for prostate cancer.
