No: 5 in a series of articles  - Roger Mason

I have rarely met someone who is more passionate about his vocation than Roger Mason. He calls a spade a spade and enjoys doing so. I have been reading his articles for the passed two years on all manner of subjects relating to natural treatments, alternative health, diet, supplements and quackery. He has little patience for those in medicine, alternative or otherwise, who would deign to pull the wool over our eyes.  Roger is a nationally known research chemist who appears regularly on radio and television advocating natural health. To quote his literature “We are here to ‘preach the gospel of natural health’, to cure disease naturally, extend lifespan, and improve the quality of life- by diet, supplements, hormones, fasting, exercise, avoiding medications and surgery, and limiting bad lifestyle habits.

Although the basis of my documentary “Alternative Treatment for Prostate Cancer”, is the book ‘Prostate Health in 90 Days” by Larry Clapp and Larry certainly has an excellent grasp of the subject, he is not the only one to expound various natural treatments.  Key to all the many people who believe that prostate and other cancers can be cured without surgery, radiation or chemotherapy is a change, most often radical, in ones lifestyle. Coach potatoes must adopt exercise, fast food devotees must turn away from processed foods and balance must become ones middle name in all we try to achieve.

It was Roger Mason’s book “The Natural Prostate Cure”, that brought him to my attention. It is a book that is full of claims that are all backed up with legitimate science. Roger is a "non-doctor" with lots of "non-patients." His non-patients regularly cure themselves of various cancers, diabetes, heart conditions, and other illnesses naturally without surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.  And lest you think he is only against allopathic, pharmaceutical medical practices, no one else I have found exposes the many frauds in the natural health industry and the many charlatans who profit from them.
Roger’s sermon here is to CURE YOURSELF, be your own doctor, be responsible for yourself, look in the mirror and realize no one can help you but yourself.

One of his more popular books is “Zen Macrobiotics for Americans” that explains and simplifies the diet that many have heard of but few understand. But as Roger and many others point out, diet is one piece of the ‘whole health’ puzzle.  A person with chronic disease must look beyond the quick fix, ‘silver bullet’ approach that mainly deals with only the symptoms and focus on the cause of the disease and changing the conditions that brought about the root cause. Inevitably this means a lifestyle change if the chronic ailment is to be reversed and a normal healthy life resumed.

Roger Mason has a real understanding of what that takes and he expounds much of this as it relates to prostate disease including cancer, in the lengthy interview I conducted with him for my documentary.
