No: 23 in a series of articles - Rob Williams M.A....
Some months ago I wrote an article about my encounter with Bruce Lipton Ph.D., author of the thought-provoking book “The Biology of Belief”. At the same time I also met Rob Williams M.A., the founder of Psych-K, which is in some respects the physical and practical application of Dr. Lipton’s discoveries. The four days I spent with both of them in Colorado at one of their seminars contributed greatly to my growing belief that the future of medicine is in the realm of “energy and thought modification”.
Psych-K is a direct way of addressing the subconscious mind, identifying and modifying the subconscious belief system and confirming that the modification as taken hold through applied kinesiology. To the neophyte this might sound like a lot of gobble-de-gook but I can tell you first hand that it works. It works so well that a friend of mine who recently underwent major surgery and had huge reservations about the operation and her perceived after-effects. After only one two-hour session with a Psych-K practitioner, not only did she go into surgery with a previously un-thought of level of confidence, but her recovery was “miraculous”, and that is the term used by her surgeon.
Psych-K was originated by 1988 by Robert M. Williams, M.A. As he recalls, “It was a response to the frustration that came with the realization that typical counseling techniques, which rely almost exclusively on "insight" and "motivation," seldom create real and lasting changes. Rob spent 14 years developing and improving Psych-K. His background in business and psychotherapy contributed to a verifiable results oriented approach to personal change.
PSYCH-K is a unique process evolving from years of split-brain research and hundreds of sessions with individuals and groups. It creates a receptive state of mind that dramatically reduces resistance to changing at the subconscious level. The subconscious mind can be accessed in a way similar to a personal computer. PSYCH-K works like a "mental keyboard" – a user-friendly method of communicating with the subconscious mind that is simple, direct and, as I have mentioned above, verifiable.
The subconscious, which contains some of our most deep-seated negative life programming, can be addressed and the belief systems, which hold many of us back from our most cherished life goals, changed or replaced quickly and easily. So how does this relate to improving ones health?
The celebrated doctor and spiritualist Deepak Chopra, M.D. wrote, “In order to change the print out of the body, we must learn to rewrite the software of the mind.” Western science is finally acknowledging the link between our beliefs and our health and is beginning to study its ramifications for health care in the United States. Other cultures including the Chinese, Polynesian, Native American, etc., have been using this connection of mind and body for centuries.
There is a “disease-resistant” as well as a “self-healing” personality. People with these personality traits enjoy better health than the population at large. Apart from the story I witnessed of my friend, related above, I have seen how PSYCH-K can change ones perception of disease and create a new effective will-power to defeat a disease. In fact, bolster ones will to live by changing ones belief system on how the outcome of a disease will manifest itself.
